My February 2020 TBR

It’s that time again where we pick our books to read for the next month. I don’t know about you, but it’s really hard to choose a reasonable list for one month. I do it because it’s fun, but I also know that it usually changes. I get super distracted by new books coming out- don’t we all? I am really truly going to try to stick to this list because they are all supposed to be amazing books, but I do have some ARCs coming that may push one or two of these out of the way. We will see! I’ll give a brief list below of my reasoning for each. Be sure to leave a comment with your list or if you’ve read or plan to read any on my list!

  • Brother by Ania Ahlborn– this is on my list because of rave reviews on IG and because it’s a horror and I’m slowly dipping my toes into that genre lately. We will see how I do, but I’ve heard this one is GREAT.
  • A Dream Called Home by Reyna Grande– this is on my list because of the attention surrounding American Dirt (also on my list). So many in the Latinx community feel that American Dirt is not an accurate cultural depiction, but have said that this one is so I felt I must read it. I won’t be able to contribute to the discussion on whether American Dirt is accurate, but I am really looking forward to comparing and contrasting the two. I’m looking at it as more of an educational read rather than a fiction read. I’m going to read A Dream Called Home First so I have the accuracy in my brain. I’ll be doing a review on both in the upcoming months.
  • Lock Every Door by Riley Sager– this is on my list because it’s Riley Sager and everyone RAVES about his books. I love a good thriller so I’m always game. This will be the lighter of my reads this month, if you can imagine a thriller being a lighter read.
  • American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins– this is on my list for some of the reasons mentioned above, but it’s also on my list because I saw rave reviews on IG. I purchased the book for it to arrive on the day it came out, but a day or two after I received the book I started to see lots of discussions on various social media platforms.

So that’s my list! I hope you enjoyed seeing what I will be reading and I hope you will follow along. I also want to mention that I post almost daily on IG ( ) and would love to see you over there as well! I also post brief reviews there, but longer and more detailed ones here on the blog. Happy Saturday!

I'm a mystery, thriller, true crime, and historical fiction lover! I live in Texas with my husband and two kiddos and love to read (obviously). I love cold weather, Chick-fil-A and McDonald's diet coke! Something unique about me? I am also a special needs momma!
